Course Description

In a world where traditional tissue-focused approaches often fall short for persistent pain, Bodily Relearning offers a holistic solution that addresses the broader bodily protection systems contributing to chronic pain states where the nervous, immune, and stress systems have become overprotective.

Your body is bioplastic and ever-adaptable throughout your entire life. This evidence-based programme delivered by NOI Group instructor Dr Bernhard Taxer teaches you to help patients reset ingrained bodily protection responses through movement exploration, mindfulness, education, and neurodynamic exercises.

Bodily Relearning is effective for patients experiencing:

  • Persistent neuro-musculoskeletal pain
  • Neuropathic pain syndromes
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraine and headache conditions
  • CRPS and other sensitized pain states
  • Any chronic pain where bodily protection systems are overcontributing

Bodily Relearning integrates cutting-edge pain science with practical clinical application, combining neurodynamic strategies, movement exploration, mindfulness techniques, and pain education. This approach gives new hope to patients who feel stuck—helping them understand that their bodies aren't broken but bioplastic and capable of relearning healthier responses.

Dr Bernhard Taxer's expert guidance will give you the clinical reasoning skills and practical confidence to immediately integrate this powerful approach into your practice. You'll discover how to calibrate overprotective systems and reconnect patients to what truly matters in their lives.

Why clinicians choose this course:

  • Whole-system approach that transforms practice - Bodily Relearning addresses the constellation of protective outputs (pain, fatigue, tension, sleep problems) working together, not just isolated symptoms.

  • Expert instruction from Dr Bernhard Taxer - Learn from a NOI Group instructor with 20+ years of clinical expertise in neuro-musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain, MSc in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, OMT diploma, and extensive teaching experience at university level.

  • Immediate clinical application - Learn practical skills you can start using with patients right away. This isn't just theory—it's an integrated treatment framework ready for your clinic.

What Makes This Course Unique?

  • Integrated framework - Master how to combine neurodynamics, movement exploration, mindfulness, and education into a coherent clinical approach
  • Evidence-based and philosophically grounded - Understanding supported by current research on bodily protection systems, bioplasticity, and neuroimmune sensitization
  • Movement as medicine - Learn to use neurodynamics not just for "stretching nerves" but for desensitizing structures while reconnecting patients to meaningful activities
  • Flexible clinical reasoning - Adapt the approach to each patient's unique presentation—some need philosophical depth, others need practical strategies
  • Psychologically informed physiotherapy - Integrate awareness of stress, immune, and nervous system interactions without replacing specialised psychological care

Who Is This Course For?

All healthcare practitioners and movement specialists working with individuals experiencing chronic pain or other distressing symptoms related to overprotective bodily systems.

Participants come from many professions—physiotherapists, manual therapists, occupational therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals. Come with an open mind and discover how Bodily Relearning can transform your most challenging persistent pain cases!

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand bodily protection systems and how they contribute to persistent pain
  • Recognise when multiple outputs (pain, fatigue, tension, sleep problems) indicate systemic overprotection
  • Assess heightened mechanosensitivity beyond tissue-focused evaluation
  • Apply movement exploration techniques that desensitise structures and restore meaningful movement
  • Integrate mindfulness strategies including breathing, body awareness, and reflection skills
  • Use neurodynamic exercises to support bioplastic adaptation
  • Educate patients about their bioplastic, ever-adaptable bodies in ways that empower rather than overwhelm
  • Calibrate overprotective systems through integrated clinical reasoning
