Martina Egan-Moog and Neil Pearson, course presenters

Taught by two leaders in embodied pain care

Martina Egan-Moog is an APA-titled pain physiotherapist who works in an interdisciplinary pain-management program in Melbourne and tutors on the Musculoskeletal/Sports Master’s at La Trobe University. In her private practice – run out of a yoga studio and a boxing gym – she integrates psychologically informed pain management, embodied movement principles and trauma-informed approaches.

Neil Pearson (PT, MSc(RHBS), BA-BPHE, C-IAYT, ERYT500) has spent 40 years as a physiotherapist working with people in chronic pain, and currently works in an interdisciplinary team with veterans living with complex chronic pain and mental-health concerns. Together they created Embodiment in Pain Science Education for Noigroup.

For clinicians who want to bridge the gap

This course is for physiotherapists, osteopaths, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, psychologists, nurses and any health professional who work with people experiencing pain. Many clinicians can explain pain well – and still watch that understanding stay stuck at the level of ideas, without changing how a person moves, feels or responds.

The course shows you how to implement embodied learning – attention to bodily sensations, breath, muscle tension and movement – into the pain science education you already deliver, so that understanding becomes something your patients can experience, not just repeat back.
